FGR - a very good relay
The FGR device is an advanced and reliable solution designed for high current control of DC motor rotation in automotive and industrial applications. Featuring robust protection mechanisms, versatile power input ranges and comprehensive monitoring outputs, the FGR is an essential component for automated systems requiring efficient DC motor management. This SS switch is engineered to deliver high performance while ensuring long-term operational safety, reliability and flexibility.
DC Motor Direction Control
The FGR device allows for seamless control of the rotational direction of DC motors via two 10-30V DC inputs. Designed for integration with PLCs or other automated control systems, this SS switch ensures efficient direction management for a variety of motor-driven applications.
Wide Input Voltage Range
The FGR device supports a wide range of input voltages, ensuring compatibility with various power supplies and voltage drops. The logic operates on 10-30V DC, while the motor bridge accepts 4-24V DC, making it adaptable to a variety of motor types and power systems. It also supports external speed control, both PWM-based and voltage-based control in the 4-24V DC range.
High Current Capacity
With the ability to handle up to 21A of output current for short durations (up to 3 seconds), and 12A continuous load, the FGR device is suitable for applications where high-power switching demands and reliability are critical. It is perfect for motors that require high starting currents and stable continuous operation.
Real-Time Error and Current Monitoring
Equipped with digital error outputs and analog current measurement, the FGR device provides continuous feedback on motor performance. The error output detects and signals conditions such as overcurrent, overheating, or open terminals, while the current output delivers a proportional voltage for current monitoring.
Power Supply Protection
The SS switch is built to operate under demanding conditions. It features dual power inputs — one for logic (10-30VDC) and another for motor bridge (4-24VDC). Each connection point is protected against electrostatic discharge (ESD) and electrical transients, ensuring long-term durability and consistent performance. Both power supply ground points are internally connected. The device includes optocouplers for isolation of the direction inputs and error output, safeguarding both the SS switch and connected devices.
Overload and Overheating Protection
Designed to protect both the SS switch and the motor, the FGR incorporates automatic overload and overheating protection. When abnormal conditions are detected, the device signals an error, ensuring prompt intervention and preventing damage to your system.
User-Friendly LED Display
The FGR device features a clear, easy-to-read front panel with LED indicators that provide real-time status updates. The display includes indicators for power, error, and direction control, ensuring that operators can quickly assess the operational status of the SS switch and motor.
Compact and Durable Design
Measuring just 100 x 110 x 22 mm, the high current SS switch is compact and designed for space-constrained environments. The device is built for vertical mounting to optimize airflow and prevent overheating.
ESD and Transient Protection
All input and output connections are fully protected against electrostatic discharges and electrical transients, providing robust performance in environments where electrical noise or disturbances are common.
Certified for Safety and Environmental Compliance
The FGR device meets CE and ROHS certifications, ensuring that it complies with the highest standards for safety, health, and environmental sustainability.
